Interview with Anne Berry on her book Behind Glass

Anne Berry launched her book and limited edition Behind Glass in 2021, which features Berry's images of primates in captivity, many in refuges around the world. In this interview, Berry chats about the project and the book's creation with designer Laurie Shock, briefly about the text included from Jane Goodall, the selection of materials for the publication, and working with McWhorter as a photobook consultant.

The hardbound Smyth-sewn book is 112 pages and features 50 duotone plates, a message from Jane Goodall, and essays by primatologist Jo Setchell and Atlanta art critic Jerry Cullum. The book is crafted with high-end stochastic screen printing on archival matte art paper with varnish on the photographs. A debossed suede cover has a tipped-on image on the front and back of the book.
